The Lotus Eletre S is a flagship electric hyper-SUV from a brand that spent decades setting the benchmark for lightweight sports cars. Even the name is no accident: Lotus models traditionally start with the letter E, and Eletre derives from the Hungarian word 'életre' — 'comes to life' — while in Portuguese it also nods to electric power. At its heart is a 603-horsepower electric powertrain that launches this two-tonne-plus colossus from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, almost silently yet with breathtaking force. On a single charge it covers more than 500 kilometres.
